The opening night for «The Magic Rings of Almanzor» on the tale by Tamara Gabbe «The Tin Rings» took place on the big stage of the Saratov Youth Theater on March 24, 2006.

The fairytale plays by Tamara Gabbe are being staged today in many theaters all over the country. But not many remembers author's name. Her Contemporaries (S. Marshak, K. Chukovsky etc.) praised Tamara Gabbe’s writing and personal talents. «Tamara Gabbe (1903-1960) is a playwright and folklorist. She is known for her children's play, printed in separate books; they were staged with great success both in Moscow and in regional  theaters: «The Town of Masters, or The Tale about Two Humpbacks», «The Crystal Boot», «Avdotya Ryazanochka».

Tamara Gabbe’s translation and retellings of French folk tales, fairy tales by Perrault, Andersen, Grimm Brothers and the others were published while she was alive». (Lydia Chukovskaya. “Notes about Anna Akhmatova”).

«The Magic Rings of Almanzor» is a beautiful tale about love and fidelity, full of wonders and adventures. There you can find anything you want: a magician, a royal palace, a blossoming garden, treacherous pirates ... But what is the most important - the tin rings, which can’t be stolen or sold, or taken away. They bring joy to ones and misery to the others, but they can never make you happy. Probably because no rings can bring happiness and love– no matter they are from tin or gold. We are the ones who create our own destiny... This fairy tale is about how important support and sympathy are, how we are inspired by the joy of finding friends, love and ourselves in this world...
