Maria Lado is a young playwright from Kiev. The performances based on her play-paroemia “Just a Simple Story”, which she wrote at the beginning of this century are wide-spread among Russian theatres.

The genre of the performance is determined by performance’s creators as “a story”, just a story from every day life of our contemporaries. There is no single cool spectator within the audience during the performance “Just a Simple Story” in Saratov Academic Youth Theatre. It is not by chance. The relations between village “Romeo and Juliette” and their parents are lived out in a true to life human way… Can you imagine by whom? By a horse, a cow, a cock, a dog and a pig living in a barn domestic animals. The whole action is going though so to say their conscious, lives, biographies and tragedies…This conventional approach allows the audience to dip into the atmosphere of a joyful and sad paroemia, where fantasy and reality are interconnected into unified whole.

The performance “Just a Simple Story” based on the play by Maria Lado got a special diploma awarded by the jury of the Third International Theatre Forum “Golden Knight” in 2005 for “The Bright Actor’s Ensemble”.
