«Recognition for Theaters in the Russian Provinces»
The Kiselyov Youth Theater of Saratov is one of the most ambitious theaters in the provinces. In recent years, it has set up festivals to develop new directors and new writers and attracted numerous directors from abroad to work on its stage. At the end of October, the renowned German director Matthias Langhoff will open his latest show in Saratov — a rendition of Heiner Müller’s “Sophocles. Oedipus the Tyrant.” Last season the theater attracted international attention when the American avant-gardist Lee Breuer opened a bracing production of Sam Shepard’s “The Curse of the Starving Class.”

tjg. theater junge generation (Dresden, Germany) presents the puppet performance of the play by Christopher Marlowe «The History of Doctor Faust» on the 19th and 20th of April 2013 on the Small stage of Saratov Kiselev Youth Theater.

Saratov Kiselev Youth Theater presents the opening-night of the performance “Saint Johanna” based on the play by Bertolt Brecht that will take place on the Big stage of the theater on the 10th of April, 2013 at 18-00. Director – Andreas Merz (Germany).

Saratov Academic Kiselev Youth Theater presents the opening night of the fairy tale performance “The Hedgehog and the Christmas Tree” based on the play by Sergey Kozlov on the Small Stage on the 27th of December, 2012.

From the 3rd to 6th of December 2012 the festival-laboratory “The Forth Height. From A to Z: An alphabet of children’s theater” took place in Saratov Academic Kiselev Youth Theater.
